Spotted at the roadside on my daily commute route. Eat your heart out, Constance Spry! It looks as if I’ve screeched to a halt at the entrance to a crematorium to capture this roadside bouquet, but in fact it’s the entrance to a very expensive new house – where the magnificent milky white waxy magnolia flowers have been cast out for the pleasure of passers by and bin men – who will no doubt give them a big red sticker telling them they should have used the brown bin. What a come down for such majestic blooms.
